Bengaluru: In accordance with the Karnataka Lokayukta Act, all the MLAs and MLCs of the state government had to submit the details of their real-estate assets to the Lokayukta by July 30. However, a total of 115 MLAs and MLCs have reportedly failed to comply with the provisions of the law.
The revelation came in the form of a response to an RTI query filed by RTI activist HM Venkatesh. The Lokayukta’s reply indicates that nearly 77 MLAs and 38 MLCs have failed to submit their property details to the Lokayukta before the deadline.
The names of the defaulters include prominent political figures such as JDS state president H K Kumaraswamy, KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre, former PWD minister H D Revanna and JDS MLA S R Mahesh among others.
