Bengaluru: Karnataka, on Wednesday, June 10, reported 120 new COIVD-19 infections and three deaths. This brings the state’s tally to 6041 and death toll to 69.
Bengaluru Urban reported the highest number of new cases on Wednesday with 42 new infections.
The first fatality was reported from Dharwad, where a 58-year-old man who had returned from Maharashtra recently died on June 9. He was admitted to a designated hospital on May 23. No comorbidities have been reported by the state health department.
Two fatalities were reported from the Bengaluru Urban district. One is a 32-year-old man from the district who was brought dead to a designated hospital on June 10. No comorbidities have been reported by the health department. Another fatality is a 57-year-old man from the district who was diagnosed with an influenza-like illness. He had complaints of fever and cough and was admitted to a designated hospital on June 8. He died on the same day.
The break-up of the other cases in the district are: Yadagir (27), Vijayapura (13), Kalaburagi (11), Bidar (5), Dakshina Kannada (4), Dharwad (4), Davanagere (3), Hassan (3), Ballari (3), Bagalkot (2), Ramanagar (2), and Belagavi (1).
It can be noted that the Udupi district, which had been reporting a high number of cases over the past few days, has not reported any new cases today.
A total of 2862 people have recovered so far, 257 of whom were released today. There are a 3108 active COVID-19 cases in the state as on June 10.
