Bengaluru: As the raid on the residences of the family members of BDA Engineer N G Gowdaiah and Chief Development Officer, KIADB, T R Swami continued on day two, by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) police, a shocking revelation has taken place.

The ACB police found 18.2 kg gold in Gowdaiah’s residence on Saturday, October 6. This revelation has shocked the ACB police.

When they began searching for more, brand new gold and silver jewellery, land and plot documents were also unearthed.

On Friday, October 6, when the ACB had conducted a raid on Gowdaiah’s residence, around 7.5 kg of gold was found. By Saturday morning, the numbers on the weighing scales had risen to 18.2 kg.

In the beginning, the ACB had calculated this raid to be normal, but when observed on Saturday, it proved to be a “Great Hunt.”

In a press meet on Saturday, ACB, IGP, Chandrashekar said, “When the information on the raids was revealed, we received atleast 500 calls and about 60-70 emails saying, ‘the officers might be having property elsewhere. The property found elsewhere might be of the same officers, kindly investigate’, so on and so forth.”

“We’ll look into the suggestions and information received from the public”, he added.

Chandrashekar said, “The raid has been conducted in Bengaluru, Tumukuru, Gubbi and eight other regions. The investigation process is on. An interim report is underway. The property statements submitted to the I-T Department, by the two officers, are now being investigated too. In a day or two, we will submit the raid report to the I-T Department as well.”

He also said that there was no old currency found. The currency that they found on the raid was only 500 and 2000 denomination notes.

“We have not counted the notes that were thrown out of the window. From Swamy’s house, we have recovered $4000. We are not able to accurately quote the value of the property seized”,  ACB, IGP Chandrashekar added.

He also said, “Swamy has troubled the ACB sleuths and made them wait outside his doors for 45 minutes by not opening the door. We were able to enter his house only then. We doubt that he might have destroyed evidence relating to the property documents, in the meantime. We need to investigate that too.”

Evidence found in Gowdaiah’s residence
In BDA Engineer, N G Gowdaiah’s residence, ACB police have found 10 kg of silver, documents related to 2 houses, 1 plot, 14 apartments, 3 car, 3 bikes, Rs 17 Lakh cash, Rs 15 Lakh cash in the bank and Rs 30 Lakh deposit.

T R Swamy’s residence
In the CDO, KIADB, T R Swamy’s residence documents related to 11 plots, 8 houses, 14 acres of agricultural land, 1.6 kg gold, 7.5 kg silver, 3 cars, Rs 4.5 Crore cash were found.
