Bengaluru: The long-pending demand for Hasan-Bengaluru train was finally fulfilled on Sunday with the flagging off of the train by Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu, at Yeshwantpura railway station.
The train was a demand of the people from the areas concerned for the last 21 years. The super fast train will start functioning from Monday onwards and two trains of 14 bogies each will ply enroute Chennarayapatna, Shravanabelagola, B G Nagar, Yeddiyur, Kunigal, Nelamangala, Chikkbanavara on daily basis.
The locals have thanked former prime minister Devegowda for starting the project and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing it after a long gap of 21-years of inception.
The hopes of the people were rekindled every time a new Railway Minister took charge.
