Bengaluru: Woman dies in road accident near Yelahanka
A late-night accident on the Kempegowda International Airport expressway in Yelahanka claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman on Saturday. Police said the victim was struck by a speeding car while waiting by the roadside after her motorbike broke down.
Victim identified as Odisha native
The deceased was identified as Ishani Sarkar, a native of Odisha. She had been travelling with a friend on a motorbike when the vehicle ran out of fuel along the expressway. While her friend went to fetch petrol, Ishani stayed back near the stranded vehicle.
Speeding car crashes into victim
According to Yelahanka police, a speeding car driver failed to notice her presence and crashed into her, killing her instantly. “She died on the spot. Her friend is not in a position to give a statement now, but we will record it once he recovers from the shock,” an investigating officer said.
