Bengaluru: A 25-year-old man from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly killed by two friends following a drunken argument at an industrial plant on the outskirts of the city on Friday evening. The incident occurred at SV Concrete in the Industrial Area of Kengeri, Bengaluru South taluk.
Victim found dead inside plant premises
The victim, identified as Amit, had reportedly entered the plant premises along with two friends, Akash and Ravi, after consuming alcohol. Police said that the three men were seen inside the premises around 6 pm. Store in-charge Vijay alerted the plant in-charge, Rohith HN, about their presence.
Rohith then contacted Ravi, who worked at the plant, instructing him to send his friends out. However, an hour later, Rohith was informed that one of them was severely injured. When he rushed to the spot, he found Amit lying dead on a table in a pool of blood, with a serious injury on his thigh.
Police detain two suspects
The Kengeri police have detained Akash and Ravi in connection with the killing. A case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said the motive behind the killing is yet to be established. “We have detained the suspects. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and background checks on the suspects and the victim are underway,” an investigating officer said.
Background of case under probe
According to officials, Ravi’s employment at the plant and his association with the victim and co-accused Akash are being investigated. Initial findings suggest that a heated quarrel broke out among the trio after heavy drinking, which escalated into violence.
The authorities are examining whether personal disputes or financial disagreements contributed to the altercation. CCTV footage from the plant and statements of staff are also being scrutinised as part of the investigation.
Conclusion
The murder has raised concerns about security lapses at industrial facilities and the presence of unauthorised individuals within plant premises. Police continue to investigate the exact sequence of events and the motive behind Amit’s killing. Both detained suspects remain in custody as further inquiry is conducted.
