Bengaluru: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has announced the results of the second PUC Examination-1 for the academic year 2025–26, recording a significant improvement in overall performance. The results, released online on April 9, show a pass percentage of 86 per cent, a notable rise from last year’s 73.45 per cent.

The official announcement is scheduled to be made by Madhu Bangarappa at 6 pm at the board office in Malleswaram, Bengaluru.

Over 6.10 lakh students pass

A total of 7,10,363 students appeared for the examination this year, out of which approximately 6.10 lakh students have successfully cleared it. The sharp increase in pass percentage reflects improved academic outcomes and consistent efforts by students and educators across the state.

Officials attribute the rise in results to better preparation strategies, enhanced evaluation methods, and increased academic support in schools and colleges.

Commerce student tops with perfect score

In an outstanding achievement, Disha, a student of Alva’s College in Dakshina Kannada district, has emerged as the state topper in the commerce stream.

She secured a perfect score of 600 out of 600, drawing praise from academic circles and setting a benchmark for excellence. Her performance highlights the growing academic competitiveness among students in the state.

Improved performance across streams

While detailed stream-wise data is expected to be released during the official press conference, preliminary figures indicate improved results across science, commerce, and arts streams.

The consistent rise in pass percentage suggests that recent reforms in examination patterns and teaching methodologies may be yielding positive results.

Online access for students

Students can access their results online through the official portals of the examination board. Authorities have ensured a smooth digital rollout to avoid technical glitches, given the large number of candidates.

Educational institutions have also been advised to assist students in checking their results and provide guidance for further academic planning.

Conclusion

The 2026 second PUC results mark a strong academic year for Karnataka, with a substantial increase in pass percentage and remarkable individual achievements like Disha’s perfect score. As students move forward to higher education and career paths, the results reflect a positive trajectory in the state’s education system.
