Bengaluru: Here is the reasons why Karnataka is witnessing a huge surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.

According to the Karnataka Covid-19 war room data, till now 3.78 lakh people violated the home quarantine norms and they may have been the primary transmitters of the disease.

According to the data, these 3,78,299 persons who violated the 14 days home quarantine norms have been issued warning for the violations. A total of 1,997 FIRs have been registered against those who are found violating the norms more than once.

Authorities warned that if people don’t cooperate with the government in following the norms, the state may witness further surge in the number of Covid 19 cases.

“People are not listening at all. This is the biggest concern,” said an officer from the health department.
