Bengaluru: As many as 308 people from the state tested positive for COVID-19 and three people succumbed to the disease on Monday, June 8. This brings the state’s tally up to 5760 and the death toll to 64.
The highest number of new infections has been reported from the Kalaburagi district with 99 cases.
All three deaths have been reported from the Bengaluru Urban district. The first fatality that was reported from the state today is a 67-year-old man (Patient 4851) from the district who was diagnosed with an influenza-like illness (ILI). He had a known case of IHD with LV dysfunction, as per the health department’s bulletin. He was admitted to a designated hospital on June 4 but died on June 8.
The second fatality is a 48-year-old woman (Patient 5335) from Bengaluru with ILI. She was presented with a fever and breathlessness and was admitted to a private hospital on June 4. She died on June 5.
A 65-year-old woman (Patient 5468) who was diagnosed with a severe acute respiratory illness, is the third fatality. She was presented to a private hospital with giddiness and breathlessness and was admitted on June 4. She was moved to another private hospital on June 5 and died on the same day.
The other fresh cases have been reported from: Yadagir (66), Bidar (48), Udupi (45), Bengaluru Urban (18), Ballari (8), Gadag (6), Shivamogga (4), Dharwad (4), Hassan (3), Dakshina Kannada (3), Bagalkot (2), Koppal (1), and Ramanagar (1).
As many as 387 people were discharged today after making a full recovery from the disease. As on June 8, there are 3175 active cases in the state.
