Mangaluru: The much awaited Swami Vivekananda 3D Planetarium at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Biological Park in Pilikula will be opened for public by December end.
M R Seetharam??, State Minister fo?r Planning, Statistics, Science and Technology & Kodagu District In-charge paid a visit to Pilikula to review the progress of the 3D Planetarium. Later, addressing a press meet at DC office, he said, “The work on Swami Vivekananda 3D Planetarium at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Biological Park in Pilikula will be completed by November end. In December, gates will be opened to public view. The first of its kind 3D planetarium in the country is built at a cost of Rs 35.69 Crore”.
The doom for the planetarium from USA will reach by September 28. Also lens for the planetarium will be imported from Japan. There is a proposal to constitute a Pilikula Regional Science Centre Authority. It will be tabled in the next cabinet meeting and will be passed in the assembly. Government has also sanctioned Rs 5 Crore special grant for four lane concrete road from Vamanjoor Junction to Pilikula. An additional Rs 2 Crore grant will be given for the development of interior roads to Pilikula in the city, he added.
