50 Cattle Calves Die In An Accident In Hassan

Bengaluru: In Dyapanahalli village, Belur taluk, Hassan district, 50 cow calves died on the spot after a goods vehicle they were smuggling collided with a roadside electric pole.

The incident happened in the wee hours of Thursday August 19.

According to the initial reports over 100 calves were in the vehicle. 

Local MLA K.S. Lingesh visited the spot. 

Senior Police Officers and Veterinary Department officials rushed to the spot. 

The injured calves are being treated and sent to various gaushalas. 

According to the sources, these calves were being smuggled to slaughter houses illegally.
