5,324 new cases push K’taka’s COVID tally past 1 lakh; 75 deaths take toll to 1,953

Bengaluru: The state reported a record 5,324 new COVID-19 cases and 75 deaths on Monday, July 27. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 1,01,465 and death toll to 1,953.

Bengaluru Urban alone reported 1,470 cases and Ballari reported 840 new infections. Kalaburagi reported 631 new cases.

While 1,847 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 598 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Mysuru (296), Udupi (225), Dharwad (193), Belagavi (155), Kolar (142), Bengaluru Rural (138), Raichuru (120), Dakshina Kannada (119), Vijayapura (110), Davanagere (110), Tumakuru (89), Shivamogga (76), Hassan (66), Yadagiri (64), Gadag (63), Ramanagara (62), Mandya (56), Chitradurga (51), Bidar (42), Chikkaballapura (40), Uttara Kannada (32), Koppala (28), Bagalakote (27), Haveri (27), Chikkamagaluru (26), Chamarajanagara (16), and Kodagu (10).

There are 61,819 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 37,685 have been discharged. Additionally, eight people have died of non-COVID causes.
