Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 63-year-old retired teacher from Ballari who had brought his ailing wife for treatment to Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology died on Saturday morning after a speeding motorcycle knocked him down near the hospital on Hosur Road on Friday night.
The police have identified the victim as Rayappa N Murali, a native of Kotturu in Ballari district. According to the police, Rayappa N Murali got down near Hosur Road from an autorickshaw along with his wife. The mishap took place when they were crossing the road. The police said a motorcycle rider coming from Dairy Circle side knocked down Rayappa and sped away.
Passersby rushed the injured Rayappa to the NIMHANS where he died, the police said.
