7 from Bengaluru, 1 from Kalaburagi test positive for COVID-19; Tally rises to 565

Bengaluru: As many as eight more people tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, April 30 evening.

According to the bulletin released by the health department, seven of the cases are from Bengaluru Urban and one is from the Kalaburagi district.

Earlier in the day, 22 people tested positive for the disease.

Of the seven new cases from Bengaluru, one is a 4-month-old baby girl. She is a contact of Patient 292.

As many as four other contacts of Patient 292 tested positive. They include a 15-year-old boy, a 60-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl.

A 35-year-old man from the same district, who is a contact of Patient 281, also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The final case from Bengaluru is a 64-year-old woman with an influenza-like illness. No contact or travel history has been specified by the health department.

In Kalaburagi, a 35-year-old woman tested positive for COVID-19. She is a contact of Patient 314.

The state’s total has now risen to 565. This includes 21 deaths, one death not caused by COVID-19 and 229 discharges.
