Bengaluru: As many as 770 patients who were in home isolation in the city have died in the month of May, an audit of Covid – 19 deaths by a BBMP constituted committee has concluded.
This has prompted BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta to seek a detailed report and clarifications from the committee on the causes of death of home-isolated patients. Further, he also assured of necessary action in this regard.
BBMP chief informing that a special officer has been appointed to ensure patients face no further do complications after their discharge from the hospitals. He also added that the state government would take steps to ensure safety of vulnerable age groups in the possible third wave.
The death audit committee was constituted with the focus on bringing down the death rate by ascertaining the cause for the deaths.
