Bengaluru: The much-expected cabinet expansion concluded with the swearing-in ceremony of eight cabinet rank ministers, here on Saturday, December 22.
The ministers were sworn-in under the guidance of the Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwar also shared the dais with the Governor.
MLAs M B Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, C S Shivalli, P T Parameshwar Naik, Raheem Khan, M T B Nagaraj, Tukaram and MLC R B Timmapura were the cabinet ranked ministers who were sworn in.
Earlier, there were six vacancies in the cabinet rankings and two others (R Shankar and Ramesh Jarkiholi) were dropped. Due to this, a total of 8 positions lay vacant for which the curtains were drawn today.
In place of Ramesh Jarkiholi, his brother Satish Jarkiholi and in place of R Shankar, C S Shivalli have been given the cabinet ranking.
According to the list of possible ministry, M B Patil is likely to get the home/rural development, M T B Nagaraj urban development, Satish Jarkiholi forest/civic development, Raheem Khan minorities welfare, Parameshwar Naik infrastructure and skill development, R B Timmapura medical education and Tukaram youth empowerment and sports.
