Bengaluru: As many as 82 Haj pilgrims from the state have been stuck in Medina for the past week as the travel agent ditched them at the last minute.
According to the details shared by the Karnataka Muslim Welfare Oganisation, president Ikbal Ahmed, all the tourists are senior citizens. “They left for Umra pilgrimage on June 20. After visiting Mecca, they reached Medina. After reaching Medina, they were not able to reach the agent from Bengaluru and the travel company executives,” he stated.
“All the devotees are from different parts of Karnataka. We are working with the state government to bring all the devotees safely back,” he said.
