Bengaluru: The 8th edition of the Malleshwaram Kadalekai Parishe will take place from November 15 to 18, 2024, at the Bhramaramba-Kadu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, announced the Kadu Malleshwara Friends’ Association. The farmer-friendly fair, which celebrates the region’s agricultural heritage, will feature groundnut vendors from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, B.K. Shivaram, President of the Kadu Malleshwara Friends’ Association, highlighted that over 400 stalls have been allocated to farmers and roadside vendors for this year’s event. The fair, which has grown in popularity over the years, is expected to attract more than 8 lakh visitors.
The event will prioritise environmental sustainability, with the fair being declared plastic-free. Eco-friendly cloth bags and paper covers will be distributed to visitors. The inauguration will take place on Friday at 4:30 PM, led by former Union Minister Veerappa Moily, with dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi also expected to participate.
With robust security measures in place, hundreds of volunteers will be on hand to ensure smooth management and assist devotees during the event.
