Bengaluru: The feud between Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation (KSHDCL) Chairman Beloor Raghavendra Shetty and its Managing Director D. Roopa Moudgil turned ugly when Moudgil made serious charges of Shetty threatening her with an acid attack.

A screenshot of Roopa’s alleged WhatsApp chat, in which the IPS officer alleges Shetty threatened her with acid, went viral on social media. According to sources, Roopa confirmed that she sent the message. She further added that she had kept Shetty’s threats a secret to avoid causing the government any inconvenience.

The KSHDCL Chairman and MD’s feud became public on May 27 after a video of a quarrel between the two during the Annual General Body meeting went viral. Shetty is heard saying on the video that if he commits suicide tomorrow, “Roopa IPS alone” will be held responsible.

Roopa then reportedly sent a formal request to the Chief Secretary to file a case against Shetty for threatening to commit suicide.
