Bengaluru: The state government is flooded with complaints that private hospitals are declining to provide in-patient beds to the common man on the grounds that no beds are available.
Well-known Actress Sudharani apparently got the same answer when she sought a bed for her niece. Finally, she was able to get admission for her niece after the intervention by the city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao.
According to Sudharani, on Monday night at 10 pm, her niece developed a kidney stone problem. Immediately she was rushed to a private hospital in Yesvantpur. Even after waiting till 11 pm, the hospital management didn’t allot any bed.
After nearly one hour’s wait, Sudharani called CoP Bhaskar Rao who immediately intervened and directed the hospital to arrange a bed.
Speaking to the media, Sudharani urged the state government to find a solution for this. “I thank CoP Rao for picking my call late in the night and helping me. If not for him, then who would have helped me? The government should intervene immediately,” she said.
