In a chilling incident late Friday night, a 46-year-old advocate, Jagadish H, was found dead on NICE Road near Bengaluru’s Kengeri area, raising serious concerns about the cause and nature of his death. His body was discovered roughly 200 metres from his locked car, which had its engine running and parking lights on. The vehicle showed dents on both sides, suggesting a collision.

Jagadish, a resident of SMV Layout in Kengeri and originally from Malavalli, Mandya, was returning after meeting a client at Bengaluru Central Prison. Police were alerted via a control room call and reached the scene to find his body with multiple injuries, the most severe being a gruesome head wound with brain matter exposed.

His cousin, Dr. Prabhanjan, filed a complaint alleging foul play, suspecting Jagadish was attacked and killed after being forced out of his car. He noted injuries to the leg and stomach as well, and that Jagadish’s mobile phone was missing — adding to suspicions of murder.

While initial findings suggest an accident may have occurred, police are not ruling out homicide. “The nature of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy,” said an officer. ACP Vikash Kumar Vikash added, “We are investigating from all angles.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the legal community and raised fresh concerns about safety on Bengaluru’s highways.
