With just over a month remaining for Aero India 2025, civic agencies in Bengaluru are ramping up their efforts to accommodate the thousands of visitors and participants expected at the event. The prestigious air show is scheduled to take place from February 10 to 14 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka.
In preparation, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Public Works Department (PWD) are upgrading key roads leading to the venue. Meanwhile, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is preparing to supply 25 million litres of Cauvery water over the course of the five-day event.
The chief secretary has already convened several meetings with the concerned civic agencies to assess their readiness, with each agency designating a special nodal officer for the event. BWSSB officials have confirmed that they are equipped to meet the expected water demand of 4 to 5 million litres per day (MLD) and will use a dedicated pipeline for the Air Force to transport the water. Additionally, recycled water for non-potable use will be supplied via a tertiary treatment plant.
BBMP is allocating Rs 15 crore to expedite road upgrades, including major improvements to 18.5 km of roads leading to Yelahanka. Key roads such as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Road, which stretches nearly 13 km from Rajajinagar to Yelahanka, will see crucial enhancements, including asphalting and lane markings, with a budget of Rs 10 crore for road repairs.
The PWD is also focusing on upgrading roads outside the BBMP limits, ensuring smooth access to the venue for attendees.
