Bengaluru: Days after the West Bengal Chief Minister was seen fuming at DGP Neelamani, after having to walk to the venue of the swearing-in ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar too has expressed his anger at the “bad” traffic management. He, it turns out, missed out on the swearing-in of the new cabinet ministers.
Kumar, a presiding officer at the ceremony was reportedly stuck in a traffic jam near the Raj Bhavan for over 30 minutes and after realising the futility of waiting in the traffic, he decided to head back to his village.
A miffed Kumar, in a letter written to Chief Secretary K. Ratna Prabha on Wednesday, attributed the lack of arrangements to “ignorance and arrogance” of officials in the government and the Raj Bhavan.
“The arrogance and ignorance of your officials and the officials of the Raj Bhavan resulted in today’s situation. It was their responsibility to ensure adequate arrangements for the presiding officers. I want to know who gave permission for hundreds of vehicles to be parked inside and outside the Raj Bhavan. This is an unpardonable mistake,” he stated in his letter.
Meanwhile, he has decided not to pursue the matter further after a telephonic apology from the Chief Secretary for the lapse.
