Bengaluru: Congress was stoking the fires of anti-Agnipath protests. The Agnipath scheme will empower youth unlike what is being portrayed, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “Those who have taken military recruiting exams may be apprehensive of the scheme. He added that torching trains and violent protests are not the best ways to resolve problems and that the Union government will evaluate them and take appropriate action to address them.”

He also said that textbook revision is not a matter of prestige for the government. The revised textbooks have already been put into the public domain. Any errors can be communicated for rectification, said Bommai.

All preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on June 20 and 21 have been completed, Bommai added.
