Bengaluru: Agriculture minister BC Patil proposed old habit of saying hello after receiving a phone/ mobile call. Instead, he proposed Jai Kisan.
“This shall become a social movement. The idea is creating awareness about the Agri sector among all,” he said.
“Farmer is the real hero. We need to salute him always. There is the need to give more respect for his sweat,” he said.
Speaking at an event in the premises of GKVK, Yalahanka in the city, he stated that the agriculture department and universities are like two faces of the same coin. “Both shall help farmers to get empowered,” he said
“The seeds and the varieties developed by private companies reach the farmers fast. But it is not with the government sector. This shall change,” he urged.
