Bengaluru: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Karnataka in-charge, K C Venugopal held a meeting with all the party ministers of the state cabinet on Friday, March 29 night and discussed about the Lok Sabha election preparations.
According to sources in the Congress party, Venugopal discussed about the prevailing situation in the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies where the party has fielded its candidates. He also inquired about the JDS’ cooperation with their party candidates.
Sources also said that he asked the district in-charge ministers to ensure the victory of their party candidates by using their network and clout in the district. He also warned that if the party fails to win in the respective districts, the in-charge ministers will be held responsible.
Meanwhile, Mysuru district in-charge minister G T Devegowda’s absence of support for the Congress’ candidate C H Vijayashankar was brought to Venugopal’s notice. He assured that the issue would be raised with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
