These families have to pay only Rs. 2,500 per regularisation in urban areas.

About 20 lakh people have already applied for regularisation and in all over 40 lakh families are expected to benefit from the state government’s gesture.

Relief for Tur farmers

The state government has decided to help Tur farmers in a big way by setting up a chain of purchase centres Kalaburgi, Raichur and Yadagiri districts to buy Tur dal at a minimum support price of Rs5050 per quintal fixed by the Central Government. The purchase centres would be set-up in association with National Agricultural Commodities Federation and Food Corporation of India.

The move comes in the wake of crash in prices of Tur dal following a bumper crop and poor purchase from private buyers due to the impact of demonetization. State government has also decided to distribute Tur dal at 30 per cent subsidized price through its Public Distribution System (PDS).
