Bengaluru: The State government is all set to make this year’s Gandhi Jayanti celebration a memorable one. A scheme will be launched on October 2 for construction of Gandhi Bhavans in all 30 districts.
The foundation stone for the construction of Gandhi Bhavans would be laid in districts where land is readily available on October 2, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said after a meeting with a delegation of Gandhians, led by freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy. The CM also said that Khadi uniforms wil be distributed to students in government schools as part of spreading Gandhian ideals.
Expressing dismay with politicians, youth and students distancing themselves from Gandhian values and ideology, Siddaramaiah said the Gandhi bhavans will organise programmes and campaigns to spread Gandhian values.
