Bengaluru: The state government has decided to amend a law, which will make it mandatory for farmers to have atleast 20 trees grown in one acre of agricultural land.
State Forest Minister R Shankar, disclosed this in a press conference.
He said, “Trees such as Sandalwood, Neem and other useful trees can be grown. In one hectare, there are possibilities of 400 trees to be grown.”
Adding to this, he said that the government had not provided any permission for the construction of resorts in the reserve forest and forest conservatory.
He warned by saying, “In case of violation, stringent legal action will be taken against such offenders.”
