Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) CN Ashwath Narayan, who also holds the portfolio of Higher Education Minister, informed that a CAA awareness drive will be carried out in all institutes of higher learning.
“We will carry out awareness drives in the colleges to ensure that students do not fall for propaganda. If anyone creates any obstacles, we will initiate action against them,” he said.
His statement comes amidst reports of protests being held in educational institutes against the Citizenship Amendment Act and proposed NRC across the state.
The DCM also alleged that a few vested interests were spreading false information on CAA. “Unnecessary controversies are being created,” he added.
