Amit Shah Visits Bengaluru, Set to Inaugurate University Campus
Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bengaluru on Thursday evening to a rousing reception by Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra and party supporters. His visit underscores the Centre’s focus on education and regional development.
On Friday, Shah will inaugurate the new Bengaluru campus of Adichunchanagiri University, a move seen as part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen higher education infrastructure in Karnataka.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah shared: “Reached Bengaluru (Karnataka). Tomorrow, I will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Bengaluru Campus of the Adichunchanagiri University.”
During his stay, he also met senior BJP leader and former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa, sharing a photo of their interaction on social media.
Following his Karnataka visit, Shah will embark on a two-day tour of Chhattisgarh on June 22–23, signaling a strategic push in both internal security and developmental outreach. He is expected to visit Atal Nagar in Nava Raipur, laying the foundation for major central projects including the National Forensic Sciences University.
On June 23, Shah will travel to Narayanpur, a district heavily impacted by Naxalite activity. There, he will interact with security forces, tribal communities, and local villagers to assess development progress, review central schemes like PM Awas Yojana and PMGSY, and examine rehabilitation efforts for insurgency-affected families.
The visit reinforces the Centre’s dual focus on education and national security, with Shah personally reviewing both strategic and grassroots-level initiatives.
