On Saturday July 11, after the distribution cheques to rural women for purchasing the cows under the scheme at Ragihalli gram panchayat in Anekal, the minister underscored the need for ushering in a  “White Revolution” on the lines of “Green Revolution.”

Ananth Kumar said Ragihalli gram panchayat which has 700 households, has 200 cows. “The gram panchayat should have 1,000 cows within a year to improve the lifestyle of the families here, through earnings from dairy activities,” he said.

Ananth Kumar said he will ask the experts to prepare a detailed plan for “cow for each house in the rural areas” scheme and it will be taken up with ministries concerned in the Union Government.
