Bengaluru: The appointment of Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development Department) BH Anil Kumar as the new commissioner of BBMP has raised several eyebrows, including that of BJP leader R Ashok.
It can be recalled that two days ago, Ashok had announced that Gaurav Gupta will be the new BBMP commissioner.
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) had issued an order appointing Anil Kumar as the new commissioner on Thursday evening, August 22.
The DPAR also states that the post of BBMP commissioner has been elevated to the cadre of additional chief secretary. Anil Kumar will be the first officer of the ACS rank to hold this post.
Meanwhile, Maheshwara Rao has been appointed as the new chairman of the BWSSB.
