Bengaluru: In yet another shocking incident in the silicon city, a 24-year-old woman was gang-raped by six men including her friend in Sathanur police limits in Kanakapura taluk on Saturday.
The victim hailing from Davangere was residing at Alamane Quarters in Kengeri. The victim had come to the city alone a few years ago, after separating from her husband and was staying with her friend, Manjunath, who works in a private company.
The incident took place on Saturday, when the woman was lured by her friend with money and was taken to an isolated place. Manjuanth and Naga picked her up in a car and called four of their friends, who joined them near NICE Road. They then went to Doddalahalli Lake bund, and raped her. They dumped the victim by the roadside after forcefully taking back the Rs 2,000 they had given her and fled in the car.
The victim was found in a semi-naked condition by auto drivers and they soon informed the police after which they arrived and were told about the incident by her.
According to sources, Sathanur police have sent the victim to a government hospital for medical tests. Based on a complaint, police are on the lookout for Manjunath and Naga. The identities of the other accused is not known.
