Bengaluru: Some Veerashaiva-Lingayat Seers on Sunday June 5 appealed to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to survey the Peer Pasha Bangla in Basavakalyana in Bidar District. The seers claim that it was the original Anubhava Mantapa, the seat of social reformer Basavanna.

The seers led by Basavakalyana MLA Sharanu Salagar met the CM at his residence here. Veerashaiva-Lingayat Sanghatana Vedike President Pradeep Kankanvadi too was part of the delegation.

Seers in a statement expressed, “The first parliament of the world, Anubhava Mantapa now happens to be the Peer Pasha Bangla (Bungalow). We demand immediate survey by the Archaeological Survey of India for its protection,” they added.
