A group of three to four armed assailants broke into a home near RT Street, Chickpet, Bengaluru, on Friday afternoon, attacking and robbing its occupants. The robbery occurred between 3:40 PM and 4:20 PM, police said.

Nagaraju Shindhe, a 27-year-old silversmith, filed a complaint with the City Market police. He reported that while he and his mother were alone at home, the attackers forced their way in, wielding a knife and a “silver-coloured gun-like object.” They tied the victims with nylon ropes and taped their mouths shut before demanding valuables.

When the family resisted, the attackers injured Shindhe’s neck and slashed his mother’s hand. The robbers made away with a 20-gram gold chain worth ₹1.20 lakh, six-gram earrings worth ₹36,000, and ₹33,000 in cash. Before fleeing, they locked the victims in a washroom.

Shindhe managed to untie himself and raise an alarm. The City Market police registered the case under Section 311 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
