Bengaluru: Taking a dig at the BJP party members, Congress legislator Roshan Baig accused them of stoking the flames of the Ayodhya issue since the Lok Sabha elections are approaching.
Alleging that the BJP leaders were using the issue as a ploy to get voters and create a divide between the Hindus and Muslims, he asked, “Will the Ram temple be built in Pakistan if not in India?”
The Ayodhya land issue has been at the centre of a major dispute between the Hindus and the Muslims for many years. It has been under litigation for a while now. On September 29, the Supreme Court had adjourned the title suit till January 2019.
The issue continues to be a major talking point for politicians, especially when elections are close.
