Bengaluru: State Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh on Wednesday June 15 said that no directions has been issued by Centre or State with regard to selecting Hindi-speaking students for the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ tour programme.
Nagesh’s clarification comes in the wake of a circular issued by the Deputy Director for Pre-University Education Department (Bengaluru South). In the circular that created controversy, he has instructed colleges to choose Hindi-speaking students for the tour.
The circular again has raised the Hindi imposition debate in the State.
