Bengaluru: B R Anil Kumar, a Congress leader from the Hubballi-Dharwad district, has been selected as the JD(S)-Congress’ candidate for the MLC by-election which will be held on February 17.
Thursday was the last day to submit the nomination papers. H D Revanna and Bandeppa Kashampur, both former ministers from the JD(S), accompanied Anil Kumar when he went to file his nomination.
The BJP, on the other hand, has fielded DCM Laxman Savadi as their candidate for the by-polls.
The JD(S) and Congress leaders are expecting cross-voting in the BJP due to the confusion surrounding the recent Cabinet expansion.
