Bengaluru: A controversy was ignited ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, regarding a diary allegedly belonging to BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa. The Income Tax Department has, however, made it clear that this diary, produced by a Congress leader during a press meet in New Delhi, in which references were made to payments to senior BJP leaders, officers, and judges, is fake.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Balakrishnan B R, commissioner, IT, Goa and Karnataka circle (investigation), informed that the diary and the handwritings inside were investigated in the forensic labs. “It has been found that the diary entry is fake,” he said.
It can be recalled that the Congress tried to use this issue at the national level to attack the ruling BJP.
