Bengaluru: BJP state unit Vice President B.Y. Vijayendra, son of CM BS Yediyurappa and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Saturday May 8 night.
There is no clarity on why the duo met Shah amid the spread of Covid 19 second wave across the country.
According to the sources, on Friday May 7, Shah summoned both the leaders to New Delhi. They flew in to Delhi on a special flight.
A section of BJP state leaders feel that Shah wanted to covey a few messages to CM BS Yediyurappa including possibility of leadership change in the state. The idea is replacing BSY with a Lingayat leader and accommodating Raghavendra in an important minister post.
