In a disturbing incident highlighting Bengaluru’s growing safety concerns, two women were harassment within minutes of each other on June 6 near Milton Park in Cooke Town. A man reportedly hugged and kissed both victims without consent, before fleeing after dismissively telling one, “Telling anyone won’t make a difference.”

The assaults occurred around 7 PM, a time when the area is typically active with pedestrians. The first woman was approached while walking with family. Shortly after, the same man entered the park and forcibly kissed another woman, underscoring the brazen nature of the attack.

An FIR was filed at Pulakeshinagar Police Station, invoking Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which address sexual harassment and assault with the intent to outrage a woman’s modesty. Investigations are currently in progress.

This incident follows another shocking case on April 3 in BTM Layout, where CCTV footage captured a man groping a woman at 1:55 AM. The footage shows the perpetrator stalking two women before lunging at one and fleeing.

With public spaces turning unsafe for women even during early evening hours, citizens are calling for stricter policing, increased surveillance, and swift legal action to deter repeat offenses.
