Bengaluru: The residents of Bairaveshwar Nagar and Andanappa Layout, located behind Bagalgunte Lake in Peenya Dasarahalli, are currently experiencing a severe water shortage. More than 50% of the area’s residents are affected by this issue, even during the rainy season.

The problem is exacerbated by the absence of borewell facilities in these two layouts. Additionally, the Cauvery water supply has been disrupted due to a pipeline issue near the 8th mile.

As a result, residents have been forced to rely on expensive tanker water to meet their daily needs. This added financial burden is particularly challenging for individuals who also have other financial commitments such as house rent.

Vishwanath Nayak, a worker at a private organization, has called for action from relevant authorities to address this pressing water problem.

Local residents have expressed frustration with the lack of attention given to their prolonged water scarcity issues. They have highlighted concerns about not being able to access timely and affordable water resources for their daily activities.

The community anticipates that if this issue persists beyond the start of the rainy season, there may be organized protests against the authorities responsible for providing sustainable solutions. Moreover, students in this area are also facing challenges attending school and college classes due to these ongoing issues.
