Bengaluru: Liquor sale started across the state at 9 am nearly after a month’s gap.
In most of the places long queue were found since early morning. The excise department authorities have made elaborate arrangements to ensure social distancing in front of the wine stores.
In city, the people started to stand in queue from 7 am itself. Barricades wee put in place outside all the wine shops to control the crowd and ensure that social distancing will be maintained.
It can be recalled that the liquor sale has been banned across the state since March last week as part of the government strategy to contain the spread of the Covid 19 disease.
Amid opposition from experts and the women’s groups, the state government allowed liquor sale with a number of conditions from Monday.
