Earlier, a delegation led by freedom fighter HS Doreswamy met the DCM seeking withdrawal of the cases against Prakash Rai and Jignesh Mewani and pressed for a ban on the Sanathana Samstha.

The DCM assured that the cases will be withdrawn.

Gauri memorial meeting: The delegation also informed the DCM that on September 5, an event will be organised in the city to mark the first anniversary of the murder of Gauri and the government must give security. The DCM agreed for the same.
