Benagluru: The authorities of the Bangalore University, Nagarabhavi have finally found a solution to the Saraswathi Vs Buddha statue issue.
As per the decision of the University syndicate, the Saraswathi idol will be installed in its original place while a five-member syndicate committee will choose a place to install the Buddha statue.
According to sources, two senior faculties of the University, B C Mylarappa and T S Murthy were found installing the Buddha statue.
Meanwhile, the University Post Graduate Research Students Association has claimed that the Buddha statue was installed by them.
“All the non-Brahmin students joined hands to install the statue. Only the non-teaching staff opposed the Buddha statue,” stated H D Mutturaju, president of the association.
“We spent Rs 3 lakhs on this Buddha statue. We have been demanding for it to be installed in the University campus for the last three months. As the VC didn’t give us permission, we decided to install the statue on our own,” he said.
