Bangalore University Launches English Language Training for Rural Students
Bangalore University has launched an English language training programme aimed at helping students from village backgrounds. Recognizing that these students often struggle to secure jobs during placement drives due to a lack of communication skills and proficiency in English, the university has taken proactive steps to address this issue.
In collaboration with the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation and the Academy for Computer Training, the university has established a language lab and finishing school. This initiative will provide 80 hours of specialized training to enhance the students’ communication skills.
“This programme will help students from rural areas to improve their skills, including communication skills, and get better job opportunities,” stated Vice Chancellor Dr. Jayakara S M. The initiative underscores the university’s commitment to equipping all students with the necessary skills to succeed in the job market.
