Starting July 1, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will make E-Khata mandatory for all online building plan approvals.

  • E-Khata is a digital property certificate with online ownership records.
  • BBMP will stop forwarding ownership documents to the Revenue Department for verification.
  • Under the “Trust & Verify” model, assistant town planning directors must approve or reject plans within a fixed time and give valid reasons.
  • BBMP uses the EoDB-OBPS platform for plan approvals and E-Aasthi for issuing E-Khatas.

This step aims to simplify procedures and enhance transparency in urban property approvals.
