When asked about some BJP leaders, including former deputy chief minister R Ashok, holding talks with JD(S) leaders on sharing power in the BBMP, Yeddyurappa said those leaders would have met the JD(S) leaders but the BJP leadership would not like to have a tie-up with the JD(S).

No PM intervention in Cauvery row

BJP state president has made it clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not intervene in the Cauvery water dispute. “There is no use of Prime Minister intervening in Cauvery dispute. Some leaders are demanding the Prime Minister’s intervention due to political reasons. The state government has committed a blunder by filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court to release 10,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Congress leaders are trying to divert the attention of people by repeatedly demanding for the intervention of the prime minister in Cauvery water dispute,” Yeddyurappa said.

Prime Minister’s birthday

Karnataka state BJP activists want to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday in a unique manner. “Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman will be in the city to participate in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations. BJP activists will distribute fruits to patients at various hospitals in the city,” Yeddyurappa said.
