Bengaluru: The newly elected Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency, Tejasvi Surya has refused to take over the office of Late Ananth Kumar who was MP from the same constituency.
Surya has written a letter to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) here on Monday, June 17, stating that he would not use Ananth Kumar’s office located in Jayanagar 2nd Block which had been allotted to him.
He has requested the BBMP to grant him an office in a complex located in front of Shalini Grounds citing that it lay in the centre of the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency.
However, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath has refused to consider the request stating that it was not the duty of the corporation but the state government. He has also clarified that the BBMP had decided to open an office in the same complex but there were several cases against it.
